What is it?
Injectable, declinable and patented technopolymer in granules.
The recovered graphite is brought to specific granulometries and enriched with the addition of the excipient and other polymers until obtaining granules compatible with injection molding.
The characteristics and applicative properties of Zantech change as the concentration and size of the granules vary.
How was it born and why?
The first compound based on “g upgraded recycled graphite” was inspired by the deep connection between graphite and writing. We started with a question: how can we improve the traditional pencil using this new ingredient?
R&D focused on creating a material that would eliminate the constitutive fragility of graphite, to the point that the wooden case was no longer necessary. A new production process was therefore needed that would allow the material to be valorized to the maximum, eliminating waste and the consequent negative impact on the environment. The challenge was to maintain a high percentage of graphite so as to ensure a clear and legible line, while at the same time eliminating its fragility.
This was possible thanks to the addition of an excipient that freed the new material, and therefore its function, from the need to use a wooden and painted case, which produces waste every time a traditional pencil is used.
